PicturePlayer - image slideshow creator
Nowadays, digital image files have become extremely popular among computer users and not only. That's because digital cameras got cheaper and cheaper, while their quality improved and, as such, anybody can now own a digital camera that can take some amazing photos. But no matter how amazing those photos are, they can lose their glow if not viewed properly. I am talking about viewing them the old fashioned way, using the Windows Image Viewer. Using the slideshow feature in Windows doesn't fix the problem either, as it lacks a lot of features.
PicturePlayer can really help you with this matter, as it's a Windows application for creating and playing image slideshows. It's not only easy to use but also easy to install, having a familiar Windows installer. After getting the program into your system, you will have two icons displayed on the desktop, the actual application and the ShowCreator, which allows creating image slideshows and saving them as special files that can be read by PicturePlayer.
Regarding the ShowCreator, it features a Windows-like interface, which simplifies the process of adding images or image folders into the program. It supports adding an unlimited number of photos of different sizes and formats. The interface resembles the one of Windows Explorer and photos can be added using drag and drop. After having added the desired images to the program, one can preview the slideshow before it's created. For previewing and also for reading the resulting file, PicturePlayer is used. Besides adding images, ShowCreator also allows adding sound files, for playing while the slideshow is running.
After creating the slideshow file, the user can now close ShowCreator and launch PicturePlayer. He can then simply point to the file he has just created, for running the slideshow. Additionally, he can select a certain image folder stored on the hard disk, for playing a slideshow with all the images included in it. This feature doesn't require going through ShowCreator again and it's recommended for beginners.
Pros:
It can replace the slideshow feature in Windows, by including a lot of new features. Besides that, it features a ShowCreator, for easily creating image slideshows using music. Furthermore, images contained in a folder can be automatically played as a slideshow using a single mouse click. What's more, the ShowCreator supports adding an unlimited number of photos, using drag and drop.
Cons:
The user cannot configure the transition effect between photos.
PicturePlayer is a simple slideshow creator, for viewing all your photos in a whole new way.
